My Favourite Make-up!

Hey guys,

So, I know this is not my normal style...however I just want to write about subjects I love or am passionate about. And recently I have been getting more and more into makeup. So if makeup isn't really your thing, maybe this isn't a post for you - Sorry! Also before I get into it I would also like to say this was not a sponsored post, all of these opinions and thoughts are my own.

For me, I have always shown interest. My dad and I have always gone to the local club on a Friday (or Saturday now) night, wild I know. But I just remember one time where I wore bright blue eyeshadow and gross lip gloss from a magazine. I have no idea why I remember this but it lingers in my mind and probably will until im 90.

I guess I grew into it. Overtime I would change something, like adding mascara or a pencil eyeliner for my water line. Gosh I thought I was a cool kid. I remember being 13 or something, I don't know to be honest, but  bought my first liquid eyeliner. Which is odd because they say that's one of the hardest to do. Whenever I had free time I would just practise, and this was a lot of the time because I hardly leave my house haha. Then my sister bought me some makeup for one of my birthdays so this was when I started to really try.

Now, enough of a silly back story which was practically irrelevant. I am going to list some of my favourite makeup product which I use regularly. I haven't really tried many different products yet mostly because I don't have enough money  however I think I haven't done too bad. Yesterday I bought three new products to try so I will also mention these with a first impression. Also, just a little reminder, I am no beauty god or anything, I am still learning and playing around so if you have any suggestions feel free to leave  me some!

1.  My favourite mascara yet is the Maybelline lash sensational. I have tried both, normal and waterproof, and both have proven to be really good. I think it gives good length and doesn't really clump at all. I guess, Depending on how you apply it, it may create clumps of lashes but it doesn't for me. If it does, I just take an eyelash brush and brush them out. This product was £7.99 which I think is a great price for the mascara.
There is another mascara I want to try however I shall save that for a future post.

2. My favourite eyeliner to use is the 'Soap and Glory Supercat liner' pen. This is amazing. it is a liquid liner as a pen. I personally would say more of a felt tip rather than pen however that's what it says on the product. By having the nib as a 'pen' it is easy to do any kind of wing or even just to do a simple line. It is so precise and this definitely helps. I have found that some liquid liners described as black in colour, fade throughout the day to almost a dusty black(?) however this pretty much stays the same. I don't have an eye primer yet so to say this stays on without, is pretty damn good. I am pretty sure this was only something like £6 which I don't think is bad either!

3. I have two eyeshadow pallets that I use, which are the Maybelline 'the blushed nudes' and a sleek pallet which I think is just called 'The Original 594'.
The Blushed Nudes pallet is a beautiful pallet and probably my favourite between the two. Mainly just because the shades are easier to wear than the ones in the sleek pallet. I am not very outgoing when it comes to eyeshadow, despite all of the bright blue eyeshadow in the past. The Maybelline pallet consists of colours such as, browns, golds, greens, and pinks. However they are quite subtle, whereas the sleek pallet consists of golds, pinks, browns, greens, blues, purples and a black. And these are very, very pigmented. Although I love these because when blended the colours aren't as vibrant but are quite subtle but still different. I cannot explain these well geez, but I am hoping you get it. Both of these blend amazingly and last a while. Like I said previously, I don't have an eye primer so these don't last as long as they probably can for me however I think they would last al day with a primer.

4. Yesterday I also bought the Rimmel 'Brow This Way Gel, I have only just recently started filling in my eyebrows as I don't really have bad eyebrows. Last year for Halloween I wanted to have thicker brows for my outfit so I picked up a cheap (£1) brow pencil from Primark as I thought I would only use it the once. I didn't even end up using it for Halloween. But I have been using that so far and to be quite honest it is better than I thought for the price. It stays on all day and doesn't look terrible. I do want to try the soap and glory product though! Anyway I have wanted this gel for a while now so I thought I would finally get it. I tried it out and it feels so weird. However I think it is going to be very good. It helped my brows stay the same shape until I went to bed which is good. This was only £3.99.

5. My favourite foundation so far has to be my most recent one which is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. I have the shade 010, light porcelain and I think it is a really good match. Thank you Lia for helping me! It says this is a full coverage but I don't know if I agree or disagree. I think it evens the skin really well, and makes it look healthier. But I haven't really tried many foundations so I am not to sure on the different coverages. Although this is easily buildable so I guess it's not much of a problem anyway. This was £7.99 which again is great for the price as you get a lot of product in the bottle and it works really well.

6. The concealer I have been using for a while has been the Rimmel 'Match Perfection Skin tone Adapting Concealer'. Which definitely brightens the skin and can cover blemishes to an extent. I think its hard to find a concealer which hides blemishes as I haven't found one as of yet. They make them paler which is good so I will take that. Yesterday I also bought a new one which is the Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' concealer. Which I know a lot of people rave about. However I think both of these are very similar, they cover just about the same. But if I had to chose one I would probably go with the match perfection. I'm not 100% sure why but I think because it is brighter. Although I may just need a lighter shade in the wake me up. These both are between the £5 and £6 mark. which again, isn't too bad.

7. Yesterday I bought a new primer as the one my sister bought me a while ago has ran out. I had no idea which products were better than the others so I decided to pick up the Rimmel 'Lasting Finish Primer' as this was next to the foundation I have. It is only common sense really. I tried this out when I got home and definitely evens the skin out, but I was not able to test how long it helps to keep the foundation as this was at night. It does seem promising though and this was only £6.99.

8. It has only been since the end of last year and the start of this year that I have started bronzing/contouring. And to do so I use the Maybelline Face 'Master Sculpt' pallet. This comes with a darker colour to contour and a lighter colour to highlight. The darker colour works like a dream, It blends easily and gives off just enough pigment for a more natural look. The highlight part of this is actually really bad but I don't highlight anyway so this makes no difference to me. I highly recommend this product and it is only £6.99.

9. The final products are lipsticks. I haven't really tried many however I do like these ones. They are part of the Maybelline range which have lots of different shades. They have the reds, the pinks, the nudes and the plums, all are very nice. They also do glossy and matte shades so there is something for everybody. I have the shades shown in the image below which are (from left to right): 842 - Rosewood Pearl, 547 - Pleasure Me Red, and 150 - Steller Pink. All are stunning colours and have great pigment. Out of the three I think the pink one is my favourite as it lasts the longest, and doesn't really dry my lips out as much as the red one does. I find you still have to touch up every now and then but the colour does last a while. They are £6.99 each which I think is also a good price although they could be lower as some are quite drying.

That is all of the products I use, pretty much, everyday. I would like to remind again that I am no beauty guru and I still don't really know what I am talking about however I have tried to in this post. If anyone is looking for a new product maybe try some of the ones I have listed and tell me what you thought. I haven't really done any post on make up except 'The Power Of Makeup' (which you can read HERE) but I hope you enjoyed this post!

Adios amigos!xo
