It's almost the end! Day 11: 12 days of Blogmas!

Hey guys,

I have to say this, 'Happy Christmas Eve Eve'!

I can't even believe it, I know I probably said this in all of my posts but I really can't believe it. I'm really excited for Christmas, or even Samantha's birthday tomorrow as I will try my hardest to make it special... But I don't feel too Christmassy? I can't explain it. I guess it's because I'm getting older but still. I mean, I usually still try to go to sleep early for Christmas so that I don't see any presents being transferred. Kinda so the magic is still there but that's hard when your parents aren't quiet with the bags. Still, I try.

I guess that's one thing I miss about being young - having something to believe in, some magic. Now it's all about finding a job, finishing education, getting a career, growing up and such. Why can't the magic last forever?

This is probably going to be the last Christmassy post for blogmas as tomorrow is my sisters birthday (as mentioned above lmao) so we focus on that rather than Christmas. I would say I'm sorry but I'm not, that's just how we do things. Plus I'm sure you guys don't mind as I didn't even have a Christmassy topic for today nevermind tomorrow haha!

I can't believe this will all be over soon and Things go back to normal. I find it so strang how one minute its Christmas everywhere and then all of a sudden it's like nothing happened. I wish it lasted longer. Maybe you agree maybe you don't. Who knows. I'm already dreading summer again....

I don't really know what else to say. Like I said, I didn't really have a topic except for the magic disappearing and that didn't last long. I am sorry. It's only two sleeps until Christmas now so I hope you're all feeling festive, I haven't even watched one Christmas film yet! Oops. I hope your wrapping is going okay, I hardly put any effort in this year but oh well!

Merry Christmas.

The Big food shop! Day 10: 12 days of blogmas!

Hey guys,

It's Christmas Eve Eve Eve! I know, I know... some of you hate me but there's some of you who have been thinking the same. Go on, admit it. I'm so excited but maybe that's because my birthday will soon follow which I am absolutely buzzing for. Anyways...

Today, my mum and I did our 'big Christmas food' shop. We each had a big trolley and had to wrestle people for cheese. Not literally, obviously but close.

After a while the trolley's get hard to push or they start to go to one side so turning the god damn corners while a middle aged angry man is also trying to get the other way, was definitely interesting. I must say though that it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would have been. Especially because there were still food on the shelves.

Overall it was a breeze, considering the time of year. I cant complain I really cant.

I love this time of year. I know it's probably weird and I'm not sure if anyone else feels like this but you have a full fridge. Like a FULL fridge and I love it. I feel so grateful that we can do that and appreciate it but I think it's wonderful and maybe slightly satisfying?!

My mum also let me have a gingerbread house kit so I couldn't wait to do it. It was a masterpiece and I love it. My sister also told me that you're supposed to save them until Christmas day... I had already started eating the roof! So that was a problem. Oh well.

I will obviously include photos for you guys that are interested in my artistic abilities.... - that I don't really have.

I guess that's really everything I have to say. I thought I would've had more to complain about but like I said, it was a breeze. So sorry for that. It's almost Christmas time though! Yay!

Merry Christmas.

My Go To Red Lip! Day 9: 12 Days Of Blogmas!

Hey guys,

This post is going to be really short, I'm sorry. I'm running out of ideas! And too be fair, there's not much to say about the subject. I hope you guys understand.

So I don't really wear red lips as I just haven't found a decent red lipstick that lasts all day. I love mattes just because they last longer. However I love the glossy look lately. We had an exhibition thing at my college recently and I wore a glossy lip and loved it! I didn't know I would be eating afterwards though...
However, the lipstick pulled through! I full on scoffed a McDonald's and it did pretty well considering it isn't a liquid lipstick.

I must say though that I think it was mainly the lip liner that lasted. The lipstick does move about so much, it was on my teeth in minutes of applying but maybe that's just because I'm not used to it.

So my favourite go to glossy lip is the Maybelline Coloursensational lipstick in '547/Pleasure Me Red' with a '021' Rimmel London lip pencil. They work lovely for photos, especially this time of year.

The next product is a liquid lipstick, which is also from the drugstore. I haven't quite made up my mind about this yet but I will mention it anyway. The Sleek, Matte Me Lip Cream in the shade 'Fired Up'. It is such a wonderful colour. Just the Christmassy red I personally love. Although the formula is very drying and it dries very quickly, So you have to put it on in sections otherwise it will be patchy. I do also sometimes use the same liner with this but its not that necessary as it doesn't 'bleed' like a normal lipstick does.

I don't have any photos of the Matte Me lipstick but I do of the Maybelline one, which I will leave below. I did use the Matte Me in my Villians/Superhero look a while ago which I will link HERE, but you cant really see it that well.

Kind of a rubbish picture but hey ho.

I guess that's all for this post, but I did say it would be short. I know a topic on what to do tomorrow so that's all sorted - Thank God. Can I just say...It's almost my birthday and I'm so excited! Not that, it has anything to this post what so ever but still, buzzing. I hope you guys are feeling super festive by now, its only 4 sleeps (when I'm writing this)!

Merry Christmas.

£15 or less party dress finds! Day 8: 12 Days Of Blogmas.

Hey guys,

I hope you're proud of me, I thought of this all by myself! Obviously other people will have done this or something similar but anyways...
In this post I will be giving a list of party outfits that are suitable for this festive season. I mean, they will be good for the whole year round but I will only include dresses that cost £15 or less. Who has money around this time of year? Now, I probably wont own most of these although I will add two that I bought for this time of year so I can only speak on quality for them. But the shops I will focus on are New Look, Asos and Boohoo as these are the normal shops I would go to. I will also leave a range from plus size down to petite so that there is hopefully something for everyone.
Here we go!

Dress number 1: So beautiful! As you can see they have a good range of size and colours on this dress but personally I prefer the 'Berry' as it very festive.

Dress number 2: This is also so pretty! Although personally I do prefer the one above. This is a plus size dress which is handy as I find skater style dresses to be more flattering (I am plus size).

Dress number 3: The last one from Boohoo, but it is just stunning. I'm pretty sure this is suitable for petite sizes however it only starts at an 8. I'm sorry! But it sure does shout CHRISTMAS to me! I wish I was confident enough to even think of something like this!

Dress number 4: This is from New Look and it is really the only one that appealed to me. But look at it! It is so fancy but so subtle. This is definitely perfect for a party! They also have quite a range of sizes of this dress too which is nice.

Unfortunately that's all I could find! I could probably find more but I just kept seeing the same styles, especially bodycon dresses. So I thought I would leave it at that. At the moment, Boohoo have a 50% off party wear offer and New look have a similar offer so be sure to check them out as you mind find that last minute dress in the sales! Good luck.
I hope you found something you liked or maybe an idea of a style you would want. Maybe you did, maybe you didn't. If you didn't, sorry!

Merry Christmas.

Day 7: The Christmas Tag

The Christmas Tag! Day 7 :12 Days of Blogmas!

Hey guys,

As you can tell by the title, I have decided to do The Christmas Tag. Now, it would have probably been better uploaded closer to the day but where's the fun in that?! I know, so reckless...
I found a blog with the two variations of the questions which I will leave linked HERE, so if you guys also do this, be sure to leave a link in the comments. Also, you can mix and match the questions so I may do this. We will see, lets just get right to it shall we?

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
My favourite Christmas film would probably have to either be Elf, or The Grinch. I guess it depends on what mood I'm in. I have a post on my favourite ones to watch so I will link this here!

2. Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Not of what I can remember. Although I think it snowed on boxing day one year but that doesn't even count. I have always wanted snow on Christmas, maybe soon eh?

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home, always. That's just how we've always done it. Christmas is for family, sometimes one of my friends comes to drop off presents but its mostly family. Although I must say that I hope to spend Christmas and the new year (AKA my birthday) in New York one year. I think a lot of people dream of this too so I wont go into details why...

4. What is your favourite Christmas song?
I also have a post on this (linked HERE), but for this year I would probably say Leona Lewis - One More Sleep. Every year, a certain song is my favourite and is 'the' song that makes me feel festive. I don't know why but that's how my brain works haha. I know last year it was Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You, which is still a fave.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
NO. And to be fair I don't think I would want to. I like to go downstairs and see the presents for the first time on Christmas morning. As its also my sisters birthday its not fair. That's her day. I wouldn't want someone to open presents on my birthday (unless its theirs too obviously!).

6. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Maybe, I promise I wont look them up either. Dancer, Prancer, Dasher, Blitzen...Rudolf. That's all I can think of so no. I need to check now, other wise I will go insane...Damn! Vixen, Comet, Cupid, and Donner. I can't believe I forgot them! Oops.

7. Is your tree real or fake?
This year it is fake. But I don't mind because its in my room so I feel extra festive. Also I had a real one last year so I cant complain. I do prefer real trees though!

8. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
It depends who they're for. I love buying for  my family, especially my mum and also one of my friends because I like to try and spoil her (I hope she knows who she is..).  I think its because it's easier to buy for them. Although I love being spoilt so I guess it's equal to be fair. If I'm proud of the gift I have chosen, I prefer that.

9. Are you a pro-present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I like to think I'm good but I definitely fail miserably. Either last year or the year before I put so much effort into it. I got brown paper, red and white string and cute tags. Though this year I'm going to be lazy because I deserve a break, and it will probably be a huge mess.

10. What makes the holidays special for you?
The first thing that springs to mind is the dinner. Or though not so much now. In past years my momma would come down so we'd have a full table. Having family around the same table is really special for me. We used to play games like Uno and it used to be the best part of the day. Even over all the presents which were a close second of course. I cant explain it. I think when I'm older in my own home, the dinner will still be my favourite thing.

I'm going to cut the questions off there because why not. I did switch them up a little but I guess it doesn't really make a difference to you guys. I do apologise for not being as organised this year as I was last year with blogmas. God knows what I will write tomorrow...

Merry Christmas.

Ulitimate Christmas playlist! Day 6: 12 Days Of Blogmas

Hey guys,

I still haven't pre written anything. ha ha. I don't even know why, I just feel so unmotivated with everything at the moment. Plus, it doesn't help that these posts don't do well anyway. But still, I would hate to miss a day so here I am. I will be giving you a list of my absolute favourite Christmas songs that get me feeling the most festive. Now, I'm pretty sure you all know all of them but my favourites change each year so here we go...

8 Days of Christmas - Destiny's child

These are just all of my favourites, I obviously listen to more but these are the 'most played'. And I am sorry that this post isn't that long, there's not really much to say but song titles so I hope you all understand.

Merry Christmas.

How to be festive! Day 5: 12 Days Of Blogmas

Hey guys,

So, you know in yesterday's post (you can read HERE) I mentioned about pre-writing today, yeah well... I haven't. Oops.  I am currently writing this in my local, the things I do for this blog. I hope you guys appreciate this.

Anyway, I was stuck on the topic for today so my sister suggested about Christmas jumpers. That's what this will be haha.

On Friday I wore a bright and bold Christmas jumper thinking everyone else would too. Boy was I wrong. Some wore Christmassy tees and jumpers but mine was bright blue, I felt like I stood out. I'm not sure whether I liked or hated it. But I did sure feel festive.

If you guys haven't wore a Christmas jumper yet, why not?! You'll feel super ready for Christmas and  will look cute at the same time. It's a win win situation.

Something else that will make you feel festive is watching Christmas films. I did a post on my favourite yesterday, so if you want recommendations, click the link I mentioned above.

Similarly you can also listen to a bunch of Christmas songs. Spoiler, I will be doing a post on this soon but I'm sure you all know the basic ones. If this doesn't make you feel festive, I don't know what will.

You could also have a Christmas party with your friends and family, it's never too early. Have a fully on buffet with Christmas themed foods, music, Christmas attire that is essential. Everybody and their dog could come along, doesn't that sound fun?!

Ali's if you haven't already, out up your Christmas decorations, last year I did a few ways you can decorate your room, which again, you can read HERE. Then when you wake up, you will see CHRISTMAS. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

I know this post has been a bit messy and quite frankly rubbish, but I hope you guys enjoyed reading nonetheless. If not, apologies. I hope you're all excited for Christmas, I am!

Merry Christmas,

My Top Christmas Films! Day 4: 12 Days of Blogmas.

Hey guys,

So I thought by the forth day of this, I really should have got my act together, however I obviously haven't. Today was my last day at college for the holidays so I can now pre-write some tomorrow as I have more time. So look forward to maybe earlier posts! Sorry you night owls!

Anyway, for this post (which I also did last year) I will list some of my favourite Christmas films. There's a lot I haven't seen or don't remember so I'm hoping this year I can finally watch new ones. if you have any recommendations, please let me know!

Now, I think the best way to do this is in a list - mainly just because I love making lists. Moving on..

1. Elf
2. Jingle All The Way
3. It's A Wonderful Life
4. The Grinch
5. The Santa Clause

I also have heard Love Actually is good so I may have to give that a watch this year, and I haven't seen Home Alone since I was little so this will definitely be watched this year.

They're all the films I could think of but I hope his helped maybe one of you. Get one of these bad boys on, with your choice of sweets, hot chocolate and a blanket (maybe a pet because why not?) and really get into the Christmas spirit. I actually can't even believe how quickly it is approaching. It'll soon be my birthday too! I love December! Haha.

Anyways I guess that's all for this post. There's not really much I can say about the films but I hope you're all beginning to feel super festive. I know I am.

Merry Christmas.

Christmas Makeup & nails. Day 3: 12 days of Blogmas!

Hey guys,

So, today I have felt vey festive. Like very festive. I had college today but we didn't do any work ( we set up our exhibition) and we got to leave over and hour early. I took this chance to look for some baubles and a Christmas jumper, did I find any...? NO. Still, I bough flowers and iced fingers for my mum and doughnuts for my dad, sister and I. Because I wasn't just buying for myself, it made me feel ever so more Christmassy.

I may have to use an old Christmas jumper tomorrow but I do feel very festive. When I got home applied some red-ish toned makeup ready for going back to college (the exhibition), so I will include a photo below. I used all drugstore brands - obviously, I can even barely afford them...
I also love how I put gold shimmer in the inner corner and dragged it into the crease slightly (like I did with the Ravenclaw makeup which you can read HERE. I think the red and gold compliment each other and really shouts YAY CHRISTMAS. I must say that I have changed my lipstick, for no apparent reason, to Bourjois, Plum Plum Girl and it suits the looks very well. I would definitely reach for this for this festive season.

I am currently in the process of painting my nails for tomorrow, as its the last day at college for the holidays. I like to make an effort, what can I say. I am using Barry M, matte nail paint in 'Crush/551'. And I'm also thinking of adding blue and white snowflakes, just with some of Primark's nail polish. I will also include a photo of this below. Although I must apologise, it is late and I keep shaking for some strange reason. But here it goes.

ew, awful nails.

Well, that didn't go well at all. I forgot I don't have any professional tools to do nice little snowflakes, they just look like a messy blobs. I will include a picture because they're making me chuckle just looking at them. Not even joking.

This post was mainly to give a little inspiration for creativity. I mean, I just tried painting snowflakes with a nail file.. why not try something new too. go bold for makeup or even tone it down. Something out of your comfort zone. I'm still going to keep my nail polish on because in stead of having an 'Ugly Christmas Jumper' I have 'Ugly Christmas Nail Art'. I'm pretty sure it'll catch on... Haha.

Any who, I'm going to hopefully sleep now so that I'm not too tired for tomorrow, hopefully it'll go by quickly. Fingers Crossed. Also before I finish this post, I have been using a new drawing app on my iPad and wanted to share something I drew today. I love it, and hope you guys do too!

Merry Christmas.

Childhood Christmas & Traditions! : Blogmas Day 2.

Hey guys,

Gosh I wish I had pre-written...I am deeply sorry for the late uploads but I guess you're all used to it!

This festive post is all about Christmas traditions, mainly anyway. I have a photo from a good few years ago, from when I was younger. I will include it later on but it made me think of all of the other things people do on the day. For us, we would always have to get dressed (sometimes we could get away with this), wash and brush our teeth and also have breakfast while everyone else were getting up. This was torture as a child, like LET ME GET MY PRESENTS. My mum also likes to spoil us so I would always look forward to seeing my pile. Although, despite having a bigger pile, it didn't mean that my mum spent lots on presents which I like.

Who thought it was a good idea to give me those scissors?!

As more of an adult I have to look at the prices more now (lucky me..), so I can actually look back and see that you can actually make someone feel spoilt and happy with even a little budget. I am hoping to do a Gift Guide later on in the posts (so keep an eye out), I say later on because I still need some presents...OOPS.

Back to the day, after all of the presents we would have a little time to open them and such maybe a little play before taking them upstairs to be put away. Although I was able to keep most downstairs as I would show my momma my new toys. Now she has Alzheimer's I don't get to do that anymore, granted I don't get stuff like that anymore - haha - but still.
Lets be honest here for a second. The Christmas dinner never disappoints. Although it's not the same without the whole family but still, absolutely delicious.

I don't really remember the evenings but I suppose this was when I played a CD and crafted with my mum in the kitchen while, my sister and dad would watch a new film in the living room. I love how simple things are all day but it is still awesome. I'd love to know what traditions you have or if you remember a certain Christmas - leave in comments obviously.

I hope you're all super excited for Christmas, and keeping up with your advent calendar's! I keep forgetting! Oh well.

Merry Christmas.

12 DAYS OF BLOGMAS!

Hey guys,

I told you I'd be back didn't I? I can't believe I'm already doing Blogmas again. It's coming so quickly! Anyway, if you cant already tell, I haven't been as organised this year and pre planned anything. I do have an idea for the posts, I'm not stupid believe it or not, but because this is 'an introductory' post, why not just wing it?

As today is the 13th, our family normally puts up our tree today. However because our living room is preoccupied which you can read about here, we don't have anywhere for our tree to go this year.
After some thought I asked about the top of the stairs/the landing as we have a little space where it could go, I also suggested having one in my room (because obviously). My mum and dad, went out and bought a new tree for my room. I decided on a 6ft white one as I have a white room and didn't want a dark colour. I still need baubles and tinsel etc but I shall find some!

For the meantime I had one strip of tinsel and I have tried to just put it at the front, it doesn't look good but it makes me smile. I guess that's all that matters. I also paper clipped a photo of me with galaxy makeup to the top to represent a star. I found it funny haha. I may or may not switch it to a star when I buy one, who knows. It could be funny to keep it up.

I love putting the tree up for Christmas. Granted, this is basically just a tree as there's nothing really Christmassy about it but I still enjoyed it. I had my Christmas playlist on Spotify playing, having a little dance here and there. And even though my family weren't in the room, it still made me feel festive and happy. Sorry guys, haha. What my point is, is that yes, it is lovely to be around love ones around this festive time but it can also be nice on your own. Not talking about being anti-social but if you have lost someone recently or live alone for example, you are still allowed to enjoy it. I hope you all do.

I hope you're all excited for the upcoming blogposts and the festive season. I'll see you guys tomorrow!

Merry Christmas.

Jobs!

Hey guys,

As it is almost time for me to start the 12 days of Blogmas, I didn't want to do anything related to Christmas.
So why not have a little rant? Honestly, its like a hobby to me. Haha. It probably wont be a long post this week but is it ever? Not that I'm sorry it's short because I'm really not. I simply post what I feel like.

Right, lets just jump right in. I'm currently 17 years of age(almost 18 waheey) and trying to get a job. I hate it. I have handed out several CV's - I say several because now-a-days everything is done online.

Why do companies make it so difficult to apply to a simple job? Honestly, to apply for one job, I had to create a profile, add my CV to my profile and fill in the blanks, which by the way are questions that can be answered if you looked at my CV. It is so utterly stupid. Even now I get emails from this company (don't want to say names because lol) suggesting jobs, which yes is really useful and awesome but are for places that I have never even heard of. I'm a student, why would I pay for a train ticket to the bottom of the country for minimum wage? Its like they don't even bother reading any information you put into this 'profile'.

For some jobs you complete an online interview - that's the only way I can explain it. They give you scenarios, don't get me wrong this obviously helps the employer to find someone more suitable for the job, however aren't they supposed to run you through the whole job, which includes how to deal with certain situations etc? Because that's how I thought it worked. They say 'full training given' yet if you don't pass this 'online interview' thing, it tells you 'sorry, it looks like you aren't suitable for this job, please wait 6 months to re-apply'. Seriously?! They didn't even look at my GCSE's (not that I didn't already know these were useless..) I have decent grades for god sake, I worked hard for those so why aren't they even considered?

Also, I'm a nice person. Polite, considerate and what not, yet that doesn't matter. I don't understand. If I am, overall, a decent person, with decent qualifications/grades, who is willing to work and learn...why shouldn't I be given a chance before they say no? It honestly baffles me. I know, some people have it worse and I'm not saying it's the end of the world or whatever but it's just so frustrating. If anything, they should teach people in school how hard it is, not bloody Pythagoras' theorem. Geez.

I know this has been all over the place but that's what happens when you ramble, as I'm sure you're all aware. its just a pain in the ass and I wish it was how it used to be, dropping a CV in and then either having or not having an interview. Anyway, Tuesday will be when my 12 days of Blogmas starts so be sure to check back then.

Be sure to tell me in the comments if you guys have a job or if you are finding it difficult too. I love a good discussion!

Edge of 17 & My Sister is Back!

Hey guys,

I guess this is a little catch up post but not at the same time. I actually have an idea of what to say, thanks to my mums suggestions haha. I don't know whether you have noticed but I haven't been uploading on Thursdays lately. Mainly because college work is constantly being set, definitely more than what I had last year so I'm either doing that or stressing about it while playing the xbox. No joke lmao. This doesn't really class as another reason but my sister has temporarily moved back in. So we've all been super stressed and such like. The extra bloggings days were the least of my concerns.

As much as I love all of the #BeautiesOnFire gang, its just been too hectic in the Hardwick household to think about those posts. I do definitely hope to do them sometime soon. And before I move on and explain more, yes I am doing Blogmas but only the 12 days leading until the day the man in the red suit comes. I wanted to stretch out of my comfort zone this year and do the 24/25 days but it would just be too much. So yeah, I am still trying my hardest (as I always will) to have my blog as a top priority.

Okay, I know the organisation of this post isn't great but anyways. Yesterday I saw 'The Edge of 17' with Lia and Lizzie. Aka the chums had a reunion and it was absolutely amazing. They both go to sixth form which means I don't see them like I used to in school. Lia also has two jobs so its hard to see them just because of scheduling. But the film was brilliant, I couldn't stop laughing. I love Hailee Steinfeld, her acting and music. And she acted the part so incredibly well. I was worried it would 'try too hard' to be relatable but it wasn't. I could relate, being a 17 year old myself (NOT FOR LONG YAY) but it wasn't too much. I cant really do the film justice, you should just go and see it. If its your sort of thing anyway. Even if its not, you may find it funny because it truly is hilarious. Please give it a chance. 5/5 from me.

Even the McDonald's trip afterwards was worth it for me. The three of us had such a laugh about pretty much everything and I haven't laughed like that for a while. It reminded me how important GOOD friends are to have. Love you guys.

It was also nice to have my mind off college or things at home. Granted I quite like going to college and being at home isn't that stressful. But it can be overwhelming to me. My sister moved out when I was still a child. I remember her living here but not necessarily her way of living or whatever. Things you wouldn't remember. So its like a whole new experience. I also wouldn't say I'm that good with change. I never really have. Maybe it's from past experiences - which I don't know whether my family have thought about but I definitely have. Its just so very overwhelming. maybe ill crack, maybe I wont. But all the changes are more minor now so everything is easier. I am actually pretty sure that's the main thing that bothers me. Getting used to something new. Something I cant really have any control in. I know you're reading Samantha, I don't want you to think that I don't love you being here because I do. Its just a lot happening. That's all.

I don't really know what else to say. Hooray to Scarlett winning I'm A Celebrity! I wanted her or Joel so I'm very satisfied. Well done to them both. But yes, I will see you guys soon! Maybe with a Thursday post! - hopefully but no promises.

Adios amigos!xo

P.s. have I ever said, you're all great listeners? ;)
